About Me

Gaffer | 2nd Unit DOP

Hi, I'm Steve Morrisson, a Gaffer and 2nd Unit Director of Photography based in Toronto. With over three decades in the film and TV industry, I've worked on a wide variety of projects, including feature films, indie features, TV series, and made-for-TV movies.

I've had the chance to learn from some incredible cinematographers and I'm fortunate to call Jeremy Benning, David Moxness, Mike McMurray, Jimmy Lindsey and Pierre Gill my mentors. Over the years, I've built a reputation as a reliable camera operator and a skilled chief lighting technician.

My journey has taken me from short films to feature-length projects like "A Desperate Road" and "Road of Iniquity" which showcased at the Cine Las Americas film festival. Working with lighting and lenses is my passion, and I'm known for my efficiency, creativity, and ability to solve problems on tight schedules and budgets.

In 2017, I helped set up one of Canada’s first LED Wall Studios for William F White, and I bring that LED expertise along with a high-tech gaffer kit to every project. My goal is always to make shoots run smoothly and keep a positive, calm atmosphere on set. I believe in fostering a team environment where everyone's contributions are valued, which helps everyone - especially directors and actors - do their best work.

If you're looking for someone dedicated and experienced for your next project, please get in touch. I'd love to hear more about your project and how I can assist.
